How do you tell them apart? Answer: the weasel is slightly smaller with a much shorter tail, while the Stoat has a black tip to its tail. These feisty creatures are hard to photograph because they move around frequently, meaning that seeing one is mainly a matter of chance - the shots here of the weasel with the vole were in an area I have visited hundreds of time. I've never seen a weasel there before or since.
